Apertura Neti Neti #6

Apertura del encuentro de Neti Neti de Amalia Fernández con Elena Córdoba que tendrá lugar a mediados de septiembre. Proponen un momento de presentación pública en el que compartirán parte de la experiencia y prácticas trabajadas conjuntamente en los días previos.

 

AMALIA FERNÁNDEZ (Granada, 1970). Trained as a dancer (Seville Conservatory and later various laboratories with different artists such as Ana Buitrago, Olga Mesa, Elena Córdoba, Mónica Valenciano, etc.). Member of the company “El Bailadero, Mónica Valenciano” for 10 years. From 2005 onwards she began to create and direct her own work. Since then she has created and performed 12 stage pieces, among which stand out Kratimosha (2009), En Construcción (2011), El resistente y delicado hilo musical (2017), Expografía (2019), Neti Neti (2021), and Solala (2024). She has also created another series of pieces in collaboration with artists such as Juan Domínguez, Nilo Gallego, Cuqui Jerez, Sonia Gómez, etc. In her teaching practice she has collaborated with public institutions (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the MPECV, Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University, etc.) as well as with various private structures and foundations, leading creation laboratories. She is also a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. She has collaborated as a dramaturg (outside eye) for various artists (Laila Tafur, Joaquín Collado, La Chachi, Lucía Marote, Alberto Cortés, etc.). She is currently working on a writing project, based on the subjective question “what is dance for me?”, which will be published by La Caldera.

ELENA CÓRDOBA. Dancer and choreographer and has been working in Madrid since 1990. Her starting point is a detailed observation of the body, both the main axis and object of her work. She has accompanied her artistic work with teaching, focussing on different ways of understanding and practicing dance. In 2008 she started Anatomía Poética, an ongoing creative project focussing on the inside of the human body, including pieces and studies using different formats. She has contributed to the creation of the artistic research and praxis collectives Bailar ¿es eso lo que queréis? and Déjame entrar. She was artist in residence for several years at Madrid’s Teatro Pradillo.
