The residency budget will be proportionally increased so as not to reduce the support for the originally planned 10+2.
From La Caldera, we sincerely thank all artists who submitted proposals, and we are opening a period of individual feedback via phone for those who wish to receive it.
Feedback can be requested from September 1 to 14. Feedback can be requested from September 1 to 14. From September 15 onward, we will schedule the calls to take place throughout September and October during morning hours.
To request it, write to us at: residencies@lacaldera.info
La Caldera opens the regular call for its residency program for the period from January to December 2026.
This year, the call includes two modalities: research and creation residency, and technical residency.
A total of 12 projects are expected to be hosted: 10 research and creation residencies, and 2 technical residencies.
The call is addressed to creators, collectives, and researchers linked to the performing arts, with trajectories from any artistic background, who consider the body, dance, and/or movement as material, tool, or central question in their project. Their origin may be local, national, or international.
The 2026 residency call has a total budget of €35,000, allocated directly to artists and companies (in addition to the budget La Caldera covers for production expenses), in the form of:
- Fees for the development of the residency under the Research and Creation modality, distributed among the selected projects according to the artistic team, timeframe, duration, and other associated costs (with a minimum of €2,000 gross per project).
- Fees for the development of the residency under the Technical modality, with a fixed amount of €1,000 gross per project, plus expenses related to La Caldera’s technical staff for setup and dismantling.
La Caldera will cover national and international travel expenses (up to a negotiable maximum), as well as accommodation options.
La Caldera may cover other production expenses —acquisition of materials necessary for research and creation—, to be negotiated in each case from a specific and separate financial fund designated for these residencies.
La Caldera is a project committed to reconciling caregiving and working time, and offers the flexibility and conditions (financial and production-related) necessary to host artists who are parenting or caring for dependent individuals.
Additionally, La Caldera is working on internal protocols to address possible situations of discomfort, abuse, or violence that may arise during coexistence and work processes at the center.
La Caldera holded an online information session for both calls on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Modalities
Research and Creation Residencies
Intended to host 10 projects either in full or in a specific stage of their creation process. We offer:
- Economic contribution in the form of fees (minimum €2,000 gross, adjusted based on the artistic team, schedule, duration, and associated production costs).
- Free rehearsal space. The timeline (intensity, duration, calendar...) will be studied and agreed upon to best match the needs and pace of each project, considering availability at La Caldera.
