Elisa Arteta

Elisa Arteta is a choreographer whose work focuses on reflecting on the body from within the body itself, studying perception and the energetic field. She is also interested in artistic mediums beyond the stage, such as video and sound art.

Her practice seeks to embody thought and analyze sensations, creating bodily and sonic experiences that foster transformation and emotional healing.

A chronic illness recovery process awakened her spiritual abilities, leading her to work in channeling, energy healing, and consciousness journeys.

From 2016 to 2022, she was part of the Centro Huarte leadership team. She is currently developing her doctoral thesison expanding perception and the development of non-hegemonic knowledge systems.

extracorporal

extracorpóreo is a search to transcend the limits of the physical body through an expansion of perception, emotional healing, and mental reprogramming. The intention is to broaden the (im)possibilities of being in the body and being on stage towards the subtle field.

The investigation starts from the sensory and the exploration of movement qualities that lead to expanded states of consciousness, which are then transmitted to the people witnessing the dance. I also want to explore the relationship between this vibrating body, sound, and lighting to create a ritualistic and healing stage.

I conceive the esoteric and magical thinking as a reality from which to expand the capacity for agency. I believe in a spiritual worldview, based on the union and interrelation of all beings—living, inert, and from other planes of existence—not as a place of escape, but as a space of resistance and political action.
